Job Title: System Administrator I

Our client is looking for a Systems Administrator I to assist with maintaining the health and security of their information systems. This will include systems monitoring, support and maintenance, as well as research and implementation of technical solutions. As a Systems Administrator I:

  • You will assist with monitoring, support, and maintenance of information systems security and health
  • You will partner with management to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions
  • You will administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches and firewalls, phones, smartphones, software development, security updates, and patches
  • You will also administer regulatory compliance features and assist with independent, state and federal regulator auditor inquiries

In addition, you will:

  • Provide hands-on assistance with server and workstation deployments
  • Evaluate and modify system performance
  • Maintain network facilities including but not limited to drivers, PC settings, printers, etc.
  • Manage Palo Alto firewalls as well as configuration and monitoring Cisco switches
  • Document procedures for critical tasks
  • Monitor and maintain VMWare network
  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, internet, and intranet systems
  • Demonstrate knowledge of VLAN creation and port security
  • Manage routing protocols and routing table configuration using Meraki SD-WAN Management tool
  • Perform daily review of data backup logs and network device configuration change reports
  • Perform weekly review of internal vulnerability reports, software inventory reports, and Symantec status reports
  • Assist with automated file transfers (FIS/Fundtech Meta file, Patriot Officer Bridger file and Patriot Officer/FIS data, and Teller Insight Export)
  • Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services
  • Maintain Active Directory Group Policy, NTFS Permissions, and file shares
  • Analyze, isolate, and troubleshoot user-reported issues and automated monitoring system issues
  • Remediate and escalate backup issues as needed
  • Recommend future system upgrades

What Gets You the Job?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or similar (or 1+ years of related experience and/or training)
  • Experience with firewall configuration, vulnerability scans, and documenting action plans for vulnerability response
  • Prior experience with patching VMWare ESXi hosts
  • Experience with Cisco switches and VLAN creation and port configuration
  • Demonstrated skill with VMWare virtual servers and vSphere Management tools
  • Ability to research systems issues and highly technical solutions
  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills
