Job Description

Job Title: Director of Technology - Strategic Sourcing
Our client, a major motion picture company in West LA, is looking for a Strategic Sourcing Director to manage and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team in planning and executing key technology initiatives and sourcing engagements. Here, you will work closely with team members, departments, and leadership across the organization, operating companies, and stakeholders, both domestically and globally. This role requires the ability to effectively assess market conditions and develop procurement strategies that will optimize value for the company.

As Director of Technology - Strategic Sourcing, you will:

  • Manage, support and interface with contractors, clients, and suppliers
  • Create and implement vendor management programs
  • Arrange projects and negotiations that follow the 7-step strategic sourcing process/methodology
  • Perform make-or-buy outsourcing analyses and develop total cost of ownership models
  • Set and exceed annual cost-reduction and profit goals
  • Assist internal teams and external executives with financial, supply market, spend and relationship opportunity analysis
  • Participate in developing long-term direction-setting for the organization
  • Actively improve skills and keep up-to-date with industry best practices via professional development
  • Consistently meet client requirements for service, quality and value at lowest total cost

What Gets You the Job?

  • 7+ years of relevant sourcing experience, strategy development, process change management and implementation
  • Bachelors’ Degree (MBA preferred)
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Finance or Business is preferred
  • Familiarity with the 7-step strategic sourcing process
  • Strong project management skills
  • Experience managing relationships with senior-level clients, suppliers and stakeholders, including issues and conflicts that may arise
  • Comprehensive knowledge of technology category management (i.e., hardware, software, infrastructure, services, etc.)
  • Proactive ability to identify potential areas for sourcing and cost reduction
  • Strong negotiation and contract drafting experience including pricing, business and legal terms
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal)
  • Experience with make-or-buy outsourcing analyses and total cost of ownership models
  • CPM/CPSM or similar certification is a plus
  • Familiarity with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, Project, Visio)
