Job Description

Job Title: Product Owner / BSA
Our client is looking for a Product Owner / Business Systems Analyst with strong cross-functional experience and familiarity working in Agile/Scrum environments. In this role, you will collaborate with sales, operations, and IT teams to identify, create, and support products and features that fit customer and business needs. This is an opportunity to be the primary system subject matter expert on our client’s operating platforms for both the business unit and development team. You’ll play a key role in the agile product development process and will work closely with leadership to prioritize and assign projects and product backlog items to the IT development team.

As our Product Owner / Business Systems Analyst, you will:

  • Create requirements and user-stories, define and communicate workflows and provide business strategy, and facilitate cross-functional meetings and discussions in an agile/Scrum environment
  • Analyze risk issues and document gaps
  • Create workflows and provide business strategy
  • Create BRDs and TRDs and effectively communicate these via organization processes
  • Determine operational objectives, design new computer programs, improve systems and recommend controls
  • Analyze requirements, build workflow charts and diagrams, study system capabilities and write specifications
  • Identify project milestones, phases, and elements, forms team(s) and establishing the budget
  • Write and maintain user documentation, provide help desk support, and train users
  • Review project material RFPs, contracts, and related documents to identify requirements and confirm with operations or clients as needed for on-time implementation
  • Support the development team throughout the SDLC lifecycle
  • Draft release notes, communicate release notifications to stakeholders and provide post-release support
  • Perform manual verification testing of new features and capabilities
  • Prepare and distribute reports to stakeholders via collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends

What Get You the Job?

  • Experience acting as an Agile project owner in an Agile environment within a Scrum framework
  • Experience writing user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria
  • Ability to create complex workflow diagrams using Visio or similar
  • Experience with Smartsheets, MS Project, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Atlassian Jira, Planbox (or similar) and Visio
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) certification is preferred
  • Strong experience with designing and creating user interface wireframes and mockups
  • Facilitation and requirements gathering experience in working with internal and external customers
  • Experience as a liaison between technology and operations departments
  • In-depth analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
