Job Description

Job Title: Systems Administrator
Our client is looking for a Systems Administrator to ensure the efficient operation of in-house information systems that support core functions. Here, you will actively monitor, maintain, support and optimize all networked software and corresponding operating systems. This role requires stellar leadership and communication and team leadership skills, in addition to strong analytical and problem-solving skills for issue resolution.

As our Systems Administrator, you will:

  • Install, maintain, secure, configure and troubleshoot hardware and software for IT infrastructure (including development, production and disaster recovery environments)
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies into existing infrastructure
  • Write and maintain implementation documentation for existing services and systems
  • Design system design models, specifications, diagrams, and charts for system programmer and development teams
  • Lead and develop new system and application implementation plans, custom scripts and testing procedures
  • Provide top-level support to desktop support staff

What Gets You the Job?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years overall design and administration experience in Microsoft Windows Server and VMware vSphere environments
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams and projects
  • 3+ years’ experience with Microsoft SQL Server including SSRS, SSIS and SSAS
  • Understanding of architecture, normalization, and triggers
  • Proficiency with writing queries and stored procedures
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with tools such as SQL Profiler and Wireshark
  • Experience with Microsoft Windows Server with a focus on Active Directory, DNS, IIS, File and Storage Services, and PowerShell scripting
  • Experience with VMware vSphere with functional knowledge of SAN, ESXi, SRM, PowerCLI scripting and PowerShell
  • Experience with designing and building networks to include LAN/WAN, firewall configuration, DNS, TCP/IP, switching and routing, and VPNs
  • Strong support and/or helpdesk systems experience with a focus on ITIL methodologies and change management
  • Experience providing telephony support (including call center operations)
  • Experience with enterprise-grade voice systems is a must (ShoreTel ECC preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal) across all levels of an organization
