Systems Architect (Senior Staff Systems Engineer)
Our client is looking to hire a Systems Architect to join their team! In this position, you will demonstrate stellar technical leadership and guidance for internal and external integrations of system-level engineering strategies effecting cross-functional teams and operations across the enterprise. Working closely with customers and suppliers, you will foster and maintain strong relationships, understanding and translating technical issues into next-generation, long-term designs for server- and rack-level hyperscale solutions

Additionally, you will:

  • Spearhead thought leadership discussions between marketing, engineering, customers, and business executives
  • Create detailed architecture specifications and navigate business cases for new products and features
  • Integrate and deploy new server hardware for customers to include architecture and design of cloud computer server board, add-on card, front panel and IO backplane products
  • Implement high-speed serial busses and fabrics (i.e., SAS/SATA, PCIe, InfiniBand, Fibre Channel, Ethernet), high speed Memory Busses DDR4, DDR5, HBM2, and Processor/Accelerator Cache Coherent Links (i.e., CCIX, GenZ, CXL)
  • Support schematic capture, generating design constraints, review of layouts and managing overall board design process
  • Drive cross-functional development efforts from concept to planning to development
  • Impart skill and knowledge of network/server technologies and associated challenges throughout the product development lifecycle

What Gets You the Job?

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, CS, or Mechanical Engineering (Masters is a plus)
  • 8 to 12+ years’ comprehensive server architecture and system level design engineering experience, with an understanding of shared infrastructure management
  • Prior experience driving server product architecture development through to production
  • Strong technical background including high-speed design signal integrity issues, power distribution techniques and  Intel/AMD/ARM/GPU platform architectures
  • Experience with server motherboard design and server chassis layout optimization
  • Rack-level and data-center power infrastructure and design implementation experience
  • Familiarity with temperature and airflow measurement equipment (thermocouples and data acquisition tools)
  • Experience with CFD modeling tools and thermal data acquisition (FloTherm preferred)
  • Understanding and experience with SolidWorks, Creo or related MCAD software
  • Design, budgeting and debugging experience including AC/DC, BIOS, BMC FW, OS&D
  • Working knowledge Windows Server (2016, 2019), Linux (CentOS, Ubuntu, Fedora, SuSE), server virtualization solutions (VMware, Citrix or Microsoft), software driver implementation, IP schemas, and network protocols
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
