What You Will Do

  • Successfully implement and maintain enterprise data governance frameworks and programs (data policies, standards, and practices)
  • Lead, manage, and maintain enterprise-wide data governance activities/initiatives at department, business and functional levels
  • Improve the quality and manage the protection of sensitive data and information assets
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements, improve data quality, and protect sensitive data through development and implementation of data quality standards, data protection standards and adoption requirements
  • Consult on change management concepts and strategies (i.e. communication, culture change and performance measurement system design)
  • Liaise between business, functional, and technology areas ensuring requirements are defined, communicated, understood, prioritized and planned
  • Establishing Business As Usual practices for Data Management
  • Define roles, responsibilities and accountability for principal information assets
  • Represent information asset data to Senior Management in the identification of new business opportunities
  • Work with IT to provide board management with progress reports and periodic updates to the roadmap

What Gets You the Job?

  • 5 to 10 years’ large-scale data governance, project management and oversight experience
  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, MIS, or Information Management)
  • Prior experience within the Financial Services industry is strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of Data Governance models, standards, and best practices
  • Demonstrated ability to manage enterprise information assets and approaches related to data protection (knowledge of key practices and business/technology issues)
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Knowledge of the following:
    • Industry leading data quality and data protection management practice
    • Data related government regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
    • Risk data architecture and technology solutions
    • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills (verbal and written)
